Fantastic Fungi Mushroom Documentary

Fantastic Fungi

A fantastic 1-hour documentary on the power of plants and nature, specifically mushrooms. These things are nuts. They’re nature’s ultimate recyclers and turn the dead into the matter into the living. They recycle nutrients and continue the circle of life. Some kill you. Some heal you. Some make you hallucinate. These things are fascinating and this documentary was one of the most intriguing and interesting if you’re remotely interested in nature, life, or the magic of mushrooms.

I originally watched on Netflix but also to be found on YouTube. Here’s a 2 minute trailer.

Another Fact About Mushrooms

“A meta-analysis of 17 studies found that people who consumed 18 grams of mushrooms per day had a 45% reduced cancer risk compared to those who did not eat mushrooms” per a biochemist

Rhonda Patrick has a doctorate in biochemistry (and also a voice that can be slightly annoying) is an absolute wizard and someone whose podcast I often turn to for science of health.

Quite a peaceful vibe. Song’s stuck in my head so maybe you’ll enjoy.

“Seek first to understand, then to be understood”

No clue who this dude is, but GoodReads told me the quote was by him.

NO! This doesn’t mean you get to use cast this quote in a verbal spar as a jab to get others to listen. LISTEN to others first. And then listen some more. And then maybe if you’re lucky you’ll get to listen even more.

Challenge: Try to have a conversation where you input 0 of your own opinions.
