This Week’s Adventures

This weekend was fairly laid back. We didn’t go anywhere, but Roomie Rex had his buddy Albert from back home drive out.

The vehicle in question? A 16-passenger Dodge mama jama. Albert scooped it from Texas and drove out, so now the plan is for Rex to do one of those van builds and live out of the dang thing.

It’s been fun having the whole house scheme together for Rex’s new home. We all just bounce ideas, throw out wild ones, and hang out. That’ll be the part about this place that I’ll miss 🙁 Really reminds me that it’s never really about where you are, but who you’re with that makes or breaks an experience. I’m in bummy- nowhere in Mississippi but (on average) having a pretty good time because my roommates are kickass. Appreciation. It’s a beautiful thing.

Oh, yeah, I guess we all went dirt biking too. (First time :0)

A Yogi What?

The book Breath never ceases to surprise me. I’m only 70% of the way through the book and it’s literally shifted the way I live. The most recent idea James Nestor discusses were these people called the ‘Yogi Breathers‘.

They’re Indian Meditators who – You’re not going to believe this -sitting still could control the quantity of sweat they produced and the freaking temperature of their fingers! It sounds insignificant, but to be able to regulate your temperature just by breathing? That’s incredible.

In another instance of Yogi Breathers meditating, their heart rate was so freaking low they thought the meditator died. He started snoring but when asked questions when he was thought to be unconscious, the Yogi Breather delivered a full recollection of the conversation. Incredible. All from breathing control.

The more of the book I read and the more I learn about all the things your breath can control, the more I’m mystified about learning different breathing types and how to better control the body we thought we controlled. Nah, it controls us. But we can adjust the inputs to receive different outputs—wild stuff.

Interesting Perspective

Peter Zeihan on the Joe Rogan Experience – Geopolitical strategist, speaker, and author

This is a super interesting perspective and also gives some context to the global political situation. Russia is the world’s largest exporter of fertilizer so with the war going on it could catalyze any food crisis, while the US is the world’s largest food producer and exporter so we likely won’t have one. I didn’t love the way this guy carried himself, but I don’t know enough to dispute his claims (wish I did). He did however present an interesting argument.

What Is This ‘Newsletter’?

Apparently, people care (mostly just my mom) so this newsletter serves to ensure I can stay more involved with people in my life. The hope is if I’m able to share bits and pieces of my life, other people will share theirs, and the result will be a far more interconnected community. So if you would like to hear more (or less), just ask!

The other piece of this newsletter will be to share interesting podcasts, songs, facts, or other pieces of information that had an impact on me in the hopes that they’ll be interesting or useful to someone else out there!

Also, I would love to hear from you so please respond and send some pictures!
