This Week’s Adventures
Dude this week? Oh gosh, it was awesome. 3-day weekend. 72 hours. Friday morning I was so excited. The adventure? Absolutely nothing. I didn’t do anything! It was glorious. For the past month, I feel like my weekends have dissolved before my eyes. Don’t get me wrong, they were fun adventures. But this weekend? I fixed my car up a little bit…started cleaning my room… watched a chill movie… got a Sonic blast. That’s it. For 3 days I pretty much did nothing. It was awesome. Sometimes it’s great to do nothing.
John Mulaney puts it soooo well in this 2 minute clip.
A New Place!
The Air Force has decided that my future 3 years will be spent in a small city (town? village? hamlet?) 40 minutes outside of Las Vegas called Indian Springs. This was in no way shape or form one of my preferences for location, but hey, at least I’ll only be 40 minutes outside of Sin City!
Initially, I was mildly peeved but I’ve come to grips with living like a Tuskan Raider and have started scoping out fun trips and places to go and I’m getting a bit excited!
The Quest for a Sexy Jaw Line
It’s called Meowing…No, wait – Mewing. There’s this weird community of people who all support this weird thing people do with their mouths. They call it mewing. Well, apparently there’s legitimacy behind it. It has to do with tongue location and turns out it can improve your facial structure and jaw line :0 I first learned about it from the book Breath. Granted, it takes time, but the idea is that it trains the muscles in our faces to be stronger and sharper (hence the sexy jawline). Honestly sounded super goofy and illegitimate, but the more I researched it the more there was science to back it. There are also literally 0 costs involved, so hey, why not give it a shot? It’s on Web MD here
Neuroscientist Andrew Huberman explains the science behind it (7 minutes here):

Fun Word
Peripatetic (adj) – “traveling from place to place, in particular working or based in various places for relatively short periods”
Someone who moves around a lot. My grandma called me peripatetic on Christmas. She also then roasted me because I didn’t know what it meant. Next Christmas I won’t get roasted, maybe I can spare you the pain.
A Crazy Good Podcast
John McAvoy on Joe Rogan Experience
“John’s arc from notorious career criminal serving a life sentence, to breaking indoor world rowing records while incarcerated, to becoming a free man and Nike-sponsored Ironman triathlete is one of the most impactful and inspiring stories of redemption I have ever heard in my life.” – Rich Roll
This story was so freaking good. Master UK criminal turned Rowing Record Holder. This dude broke a Rowing Record while in prison. He had 0 training, 0 nutrition, 0 knowledge, and had nothing but heart and broke a Rowing Record.
His whole story and the life turn around is incredible and genuinely inspiring.
